Land Ho!, Knitting Mystery, Sibling addiction, and charity knitting

Ohmygosh, I see it! LAND HO! I see land! I'm nearly to the port (end) of the Jaquet for Mary! I am working hard on the sleeves, after a few storms with the fact that I sure as heck won't have enough yarn to make a very long sleeves. What a shame. It doesn't matter, though, because I can see land! The end of this jaquet is near!

Manon is just as excited as I am, because He wants to be knit properly now, and I'm sure that while this little present is making him a little nervous, he doesn't seem to mind, as I have placed him on the floor near my bed, meaning that we are still engaged (engaged in both meanings, too!).

I have, of late, been reading a book called "Died in the Wool." It's a fabulous knitting mystery, and I love it. I'm nearly done with this, too, though I still don't know who did it. Apparently, She (or he) killed a lady in a yarn shop, and the shop owner wants to find out. She and all her friends have been under question of some kind, which isn't helping any of her relationships much, and is stressful o her too. She's also been attacked, too. The Detective is funny, and he is with the shop owner. I won't give much of it away, but it's fascinating! If anyone likes mysteries and knitting, this book is definitely for you.

The other day, I was on the computer, typing away, (I forget on what exactly) when Mom came in with an amazed expression on her face. "What kind of influence have you been on those little kids?" she asked (more or less). "what is it?" I replied. "They're in the TV room, and they aren't watching any cartoons. They're watching knitting!" I was stunned. I left the computer, walked the short distance, and saw that mom was wrong. they weren't just watching knitting. They were watching hand dying! I was shocked. My little sister, who had the remote in hand, saw my expression and said, "What? It's interesting!" She's amazing. I don't know if my little brother was enjoying it, but he was at least watching it. Cool, no?

Okay, for those who don't know, I only (sadly) get one knitting show on our cable network, and that's DIY's Knitty Gritty with Vickie Howl. I record it whenever it's on, and since my sibs know how to get on the recordings, they must have stumbled upon it. Just thought I put in that explanation.

And finally, the charity knitting. My newly-formed knitting club, the Knotty Knitters, at my high school, started by yours truly, has started knitting for charity. I found an organization on Ravelry called Stitches from the heart. people make baby items and send them to California, where they get shipped across the USA. We're going to buy some yarn on Friday, but my other Knotty Knitter, (there's only one, sadly,) is working on her hat now. I'm excited to see what it looks like!

Thank you, as always, for reading my posts, and thank you for being there for me. I am not quite at the "nearly there" mark, but I can see land. LAND HO!

How exciting-the jaquet is almost finished, and I'm sure that it's beautiful! I hope you find the cord so that you can post a picture of it. And wouldn't it be great if you could get a knitting scholarship? I'll pray for that! Take care, and happy knitting. :-)
