YAY! I'm baaaaaack! Sorry for the long wait, everyone. It was hard! I had to read so. much. Pimpernel! But, now that May is over, and June is upon us, I can go back to commentating on Knit-twit, and prooving my case that knitting controls my life.
now that we have the intro done, let's get on with the knitting!! OK, I KNOW I said I'd work on putting at least 1 pic per post, but right now, I have no pics that show the progress on my sweater for mom! Mom's birthday is this month, a day after my Graduation, so I need to work fast and furious. I finally finished the two sleeves, and they look great. I'm going to attach them to the body of the sweater when I get home, and then I'll work on it until it is done. I'm probably just going to end in ribbing, to make the sweater less complicated, followed by a k1 p1 rib especially for the neck boarder. Then, I'll cast off, and by jingo, I can get to those soft . . . . luscious . . . pure white booties for my aunt's baby. And I think I might make a second pair.
And, after I finish those incredibly short projects, I'll get to work on measuring and making Stephen's sweater vest. Mom wants him to have a seed-stitch pullover vest to go with his dress code for school (we dress like new-yorkers in the business area of NYC). I have all that wonderful navy blue yarn in there, and I can't stand it!
Also, a tank-top is a long-awaited project. I found the perfect yarn on sale at the yarn store, and If I could figure out how to work the 2 colors in, I think I can make myself a tank-top.
In other news, I'm going to be teaching knitting at a camp where I'll be a counselor. I have three projects lined up: the zimmer-mittens, the type that my friends' orange ones are made of, a drawstring bag, which I'll show you as soon as I can get my camera, and a simple, fun-fur yarn purse, garter stitch, knit in a strip and sew together with a darning needle, and completed with a button (one need not make a button hole for things like fun fur yarn). They are in levels of difficulty, listed from hardest to easiest here. what do you think? do you think that a drawstring bag should be fine? do you think the mittens aren't that hard? Do you think the girls that came to last-years' camp will come this year?
Ciao for now (or until I can get to my camera)
