I'm sorry I didn't post last week. The first week back is always hectic. But, the good news is that over spring break, I finished the Plum sweater! what do you think? It looks good, no?
Feel free to praise in the comments below. :D
And now, I begin my other projects. the most pressing of which is the Redwall sweater. I have updated the pattern, but not begun it. It's a tribute to Brian Jacques, as you may have heard in previous posts. I am actually reading the first book, Redwall, for another blog of mine. Soon, you will see progress. but not yet. I hate to go directly into sweaters, one after the other. so, I'm taking a break by doing these:
the green is called the Helix scarf, and it's ruffled. I made it for my mom for her early birthday gift. If I see her for Easter, I'll give it to her then. she looks positively lovely in green.
the strange blue-black thing is also a helix scarf. I figure someone's got to use that yarn, and a helix scarf is the perfect use for it.
finally, the last item is for a Watch-and-knit-along I'm doing with my Hogan's Heroes group on Ravelry. if you want to join, here's the link to the conversation! :D http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/newkirk-knits-too/1536060/1-25#24
We are going to watch 2 episodes a week, and since we all own the entire series, we can do this without much trouble. Every 2 months a project is made dedicated to one member of the cast on the show. This time it's Lebeau, a small Frenchman who can cook well, think fast, and follow the whims of his commanding officer, Colonel Hogan. Fun fact: the actor who played Lebeau actually was both French and Jewish. He always wears long sleeves in the show to cover his hideous concentration camp scar, the numbers on his arm. In any case, these two months we have to knit berets and scarves. they can be any types of either, but I chose a nice old-fashioned, "original" beret for mine. I've been enjoying knitting it, and doubtless it will end up being the talk of the campus.
This is a short post today. I wonder, will anyone notice?
ciao for now!

The sweater is a veritable work of art! It's really beautiful, Cimorine; and if you were in Kansas, you could wear it tonight--it's going to be 40 degrees, and even colder tomorrow night! Any way, I really like the plum color, and the pattern is amazing. Hope all is well and that you had a very nice Laetare Sunday. May God bless you and your dear ones.
thanks! :D lol, i'll just wear it here in NE Oregon. it's around the 40's here, too. :D thanks for you comment! All is well with me, hope it's the same with you, and Happy Laetare sunday! :D
